Hello everyone,

Does anyone happen to know if it's possible to successfully perform a forced regeneration in the standstill mode on a 170 PS 2.0 TDI (CBBB) engine, even if the temperature sensor 4 (after DPF) reaches above 600 degrees Celsius (930 degrees Fahrenheit)? The normal regeneration then stops. The forced regeneration did not start. Is there a trick or override?

In my industrial engines, I can regenerate using a model-based/controlled approach, as long as the sensors before the turbo and before the DPF provide plausible values for component protection.

The background is that the workshop broke the sensor's mounting nut during the replacement attempt, and I can't leave the car unattended until they come to remove the DPF. I need to somehow get through the next 2 weeks.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you and best regards.

Hi Bo,

Remove the plug from the faulty temperature sensor and create a fake signal?
But it's not really less effort than replacing the sensor.

Is it possible to get a company car/rental car? That would certainly be the simplest solution.

Best regards, Rainer

Hello Rainer,

I had actually thought about manually setting the value via a potentiometer to approximately 100°C above the pre-DOC value after regeneration started, in order to allow the regeneration process to continue.

This piece of junk requires the workshop to completely remove the entire axle support in order to remove the DPF, which has all the associated consequences. I don't have time to do it myself.

I'll probably be driving my modified Forester for the next two weeks if this issue with the potentiometer doesn't resolve itself.

Greetings

Bo
