What would you do?
Golf TDI-PD, 115 hp, 6-speed manual, 3 years old, not 'longlife' service interval, 60,000 km inspection (without timing belt replacement).
Inspection at an independent workshop or at a VW dealership?
Thank you for your tips!
best regards, markus

Hi.

Do you get a valid stamp from the dealer for the service booklet (which is important for maintaining its value when reselling the car)?

Otherwise: If the mechanic is familiar with the car (has worked on that model before) and has a good reputation, I don't see any problem with it.

Es sei denn, Du möchtest später noch Kulanz bei evtl. Problemen haben. Aber inweiweit dieser Begriff noch im VAG-Wortschatz enthalten ist, darüber gehen die Meinungen ja auseinander . . . icon_confused.gif

You can get your car serviced at any workshop. However, it seems that VAG workshops generally fail to meet customer expectations less often than independent garages.

When I bought my car used, the seller (a friend of mine) literally told me: 'There's only one thing you absolutely must not do with this car: don't take it to a Volkswagen workshop...'

At 3 years old, I might still take it to a VW dealership for the service because of the official stamp, but not after that.

Regards,
I'm sorry, I don't understand the word 'wollif.' Could you please provide more context or clarify your request?
