Hello everyone,
I am having a problem with retrofitting electrically adjustable side mirrors:
Automatic rearview mirror correctly connected, works perfectly!
Pin 1 to Ignition Positive Terminal 15
Pin 2 on the ground terminal 31
Pin 3 at the reverse signal (deactivate the headlights)
Pin 6 on the interior light (to disable the auto-dimming function)
Now I thought, if something works well on the inside, it can't be bad for the outside either.
I bought a retractable mirror (only for the driver's side, the passenger side isn't as important). I have connected one cable to the mirror housing via pins 4 and 5, and this caused a problem:
For connecting to the mirror, the dealer couldn't provide a connector, so I attached insulated cable connectors to the cable. So far, so good, but which pin goes to which cable? I tried both variations out of curiosity. The mirror responds, but in one variation, it becomes blurry and everything has colorful edges! In the other variation, strange spots appear at the points where the cable is connected to the mirror glass. As a precaution, I disconnected everything again. I hope this glass wasn't already damaged when I bought it!
On the mirror, there are a brown and a black cable. The wiring diagram also doesn't help, as it only shows the cable names and the pin numbering of the mirror. However, this information is only on the connector and not on the socket, and I can't get to that! Does anyone have any ideas? Both mirrors are connected to the same pins and are parallel, so it can't be that there's only one mirror.
Thank you. |
