Speedometer replaced - engine won't start?

I want to install an instrument cluster from an S4 into my Audi A4 (built in December 1999) because I don't have a FIS (Factory Information System) yet.
Unfortunately, the engine is not starting, even after adjusting the key (the WFS light has gone out), or it turns off again after 2 seconds.

The error log indicates: Engine control unit locked.

Is the combination device faulty, or is something else that needs to be adjusted?
I coded the combination meter to 00062 (6-cylinder gasoline engine). Originally, it was set to 00064.

'My station wagon has a production date of 11/1999, while the S4 has a production date of 02/2000, so it should theoretically match. Could it be due to wiring issues or a missing CAN bus? Perhaps the engine control unit isn't receiving information from the WFS (whatever that is)?'
I certainly don't know what to do next .

You forgot to introduce the engine control unit and the instrument cluster to each other.

I followed the instructions from audi4ever.at, and there was nothing further mentioned about that topic there.

How do I get the login code?

Simply ask the dealer.
Is he allowed to release that?

Because I left a key configured for the new device!

I just read and saved channel 00, as described in section 10.
However, it didn't change anything. Of course, I don't have a login code, but it didn't give me any message saying that it required one. Or do I need to log in using the first button on the right side before anything will happen with the other buttons? (VAG-Com)
