Hello.

After not finding anything using the search function, I would like to start my first post:

I have 2 questions:

Is there a list available for VAG-Com that explains the purpose of each group?

'IDLE Speed Smooth running adjustments' - Group 13.
In the display field, cylinders 1 to 4.
In the first three fields, cyl1 to cyl3, a value is specified, while cyl4 is left blank.
Is there a reason for this, or is it normal? Or could it be normal?

Label file found, STG 028 906 021, engine 1Z, year of manufacture 1996.
(Digi Tec Tuning 90, increasing horsepower to approximately 120 PS)

Thank you very much.

Okay, please provide the German text you would like me to translate into English.

Hello,

"The cylinder with a value of zero is the reference point. The other values, expressed in mg/stroke, indicate how much more (+) or less (-) needs to be injected into each cylinder to achieve the most consistent crankshaft speed."

Significant positive deviations outside the tolerance range (see technical articles on target values) indicate defects, such as faulty fuel injectors, leaky valve seats, inadequate piston sealing, etc.

Based on my own experience, fluctuations in the auxiliary equipment can also affect the measured values. Therefore, I believe that the readings are not very reliable unless these auxiliary components are disconnected.
In my case of acute heart failure, a worn V-ribbed belt pulley was later identified as the cause of the differing injection amounts (0.5 mg per injection).
After the wheel was trued, the values were within acceptable limits.

Best regards, Rainer.

Hello!

During my first attempts with my new VAGCOM icon_biggrin.gif, I stumbled upon measuring group 13, which led me to the same question as alca. The search brought me to this older thread, sorry if I'm bringing it up again.

(1):

The measurement values for group 13 (idle speed control) on my AFN engine (G3, 1997, 126,000 km) are:

Cyl.1: 0.09
Cyl.2: -0.85
Cyl.3: -0.23

In the technical article about setpoints, for measurement group 13, the AFN field indicates "no setpoint."
How am I supposed to interpret this?

I don't understand the word "positive" in this context. Also, there are consistently strong "negative" deviations.
"They are concerning because they tell us that the reference cylinder is 'weak'."
or?

Greetings, Klaus.
