Hello,
I have a Golf 3 AFN, 4-door, with 166,000 km, and it has power windows in the front.
You won't believe what happened in the last two days.

'First, the driver's side window got stuck. When you press the button, you can clearly hear the motor engaging. The next day, knowing that the driver's side wasn't working, I tried to fully open the passenger side window from being half-open, but it no longer worked. It was still working before. Now, of course, it's completely broken, because a window that's closed and won't open won't move even a millimeter!'

Have you ever experienced anything like this? My switch just broke and the driver's side window is stuck, all within 2 days?

Here's why I'm writing this:
'I won't be back home until Saturday, so I'm on the road. I thought I'd pull the fuse just in case, to prevent any wires from burning out or something. Better safe than sorry! After all, the power windows are also activated when you lock the car! I've already had a broken wire in the door hinge (actually, in the channel).'
However, I can't find the fuse, and the manual lists everything possible, like interior lighting, etc., but nothing about the window lifters.
Can you tell me where it is located? What's the part number? Or a relay number that I can remove?

It's really annoying me again!! icon_evil.gif
Thank you.
hello

The fuse for the G3 model is not located in the standard fuse compartment; instead, it is clipped onto the top of the fuse box.

Furthermore, it's a circuit breaker, so it doesn't look like a simple fuse; it's made of metal and is a bit thicker.

Regards,
Private.

I also had a similar problem with my Passat. icon_eek.gif In my case, the sunroof opened on its own and wouldn't close. icon_twisted.gif Luckily, it happened in the summer. In the 35i facelift and the Golf III, each window and the sunroof have their own control unit, which is directly connected to the respective motor. These are all connected to each other. In my case, the control unit on the driver's side was defective. When I disconnected it, the rest started working again... (Don't even ask how much such a piece of junk costs... })
