Hello,

had a flat tire on the rear right a few days ago, so I then ordered two new tires (because I wanted two new tires per axle).

I brought my car (with spare wheel) to the VW workshop today with the request to inflate the rear tires and balance them. I also had the front wheels balanced!

Then came the shocking bill!!!!

over 70 Euro!!!!

Simply mounting and balancing 2 tires costs €28.45 plus VAT. Also also on the invoice: '4 tires replaced' for 11.81 !!!
Two times the price is actually 13.80!!!

So, I had all four tires balanced at ReifenFeneberg (Allgäu) in the spring for 15 euros!!
And they also have very high prices!

But since I went to the VW workshop this time, I probably paid a significant amount.
It would be better to inquire beforehand and compare!!!

What experiences have you had in this area?
Are the prices okay???
Is the position '4 wheels changed' standard during balancing?

Thank you.

Hello,

really have to say that over 70 euros is really too expensive....
I can't tell you what the position 'mounting wheels' entails.
Last year, I had four tires moved and balanced, and I paid 20 euros for the coffee fund of my tire shop.
I think it will probably cost around 40 euros there.
Just ask at the tire shop, they'll all be happy to have a good coffee fund... icon_mrgreen.gif

Hi!

Of course, it also depends on the size of your VAG partner. The business with tires is not a major business for most VAG companies.
Here in Braunschweig, some car dealerships are bringing the tires to a tire service for these types of jobs.
The transport and time also naturally incur additional costs.

Maybe next time, we'll just go to the tire shop again.

Best regards, D.
