Hello!

After a long time of reading and learning about my Galaxy device, I am now reaching out...
Okay, I'm reaching out to the forum users because I'm stuck on a problem and can't find any solutions in the archive either.
After a visit to the workshop (for window regulator repair), I noticed that the performance...
The development of my project hasn't been going as smoothly as it was before.
Of course, I am aware that a power window has nothing to do with engine performance.
reducing something. At the same time, consumption, according to the MFA, increased significantly.
The fuel consumption was previously about 7.0 liters on the way to work.
Now, it should be 8.5 liters. After that, I did this here.
Looking for a solution to a problem and also found some answers.

1. Air in the fuel line - resolved by replacing the diesel filter and...
Return valve loosened. Hose connections tightened.
2. Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor defect detected; replacement revealed that the original MAF sensor was functioning correctly.
It is a one-piece mass airflow sensor (MAF) from Pierburg. It costs 180 euros at Volkswagen.
I only paid 154 euros at my favorite car accessories store.
3. Checked all accessible cable connections to ensure they are securely seated and properly...
Contact spray applied.

Success: The car pulls better and also reaches its 'top speed' of 160 km/h, as measured by a GPS.
Only the MFA (Multi Function Display) shows me an average fuel consumption of 8.1 liters per 100 kilometers.
Now I've driven 1040 km with this tank of fuel (70 liters plus an additional 10 liters).
driving is not an option. I'm also being told that there's a remaining distance to cover of...
'140 km displayed. So far, the fuel consumption indicator has been incredibly accurate: Until...'
to 0.1 liters!
After refueling, I have now calculated the fuel consumption to be 7.04 liters per 100 kilometers.
By the way: The error memory is empty, and a complete check also revealed no errors.
Faults identified.

My question is: How can I get this MFA to provide me with real values again?
to display?

My car is a Galaxy, first registered in February 1997.
66 kW / 90 hp, engine code is AHU.
So far, it has been relatively trouble-free, except for the tie rods.
I hope there are knowledgeable people here who can help me with this.
before I have to resort to the expensive option.

Best regards,

Michael.

Hello everyone!

The problem with the power consumption display of the MFA no longer exists! icon_razz.gif

One of the sensors located on the front wheels was the cause.
I suspect it's the ABS sensors.
One of the cable connectors was a bit loose. I fiddled with it, pressed it back into place properly, and then the diesel engine started running like it used to.
The power consumption indicator is also behaving completely normally again.

Let's talk about something other than LMM (mass airflow sensor), ECUs (electronic control units), and the problems with the VEP (variable valve lift).

Perhaps this is also a solution for others in the forum who are stuck and don't know what to do next.

Best regards,

Michael (Dr. Diesel)
