Hello again,
Over the weekend, I reconfigured my Speedbuster 2 unit, this time following Rainer K.'s instructions. About 6 weeks ago, I made the claim in a post that the spindle trimmers I and T were swapped between the Speedbuster and Alpin models. This is definitely not the case; Rainer's instructions worked perfectly.
To summarize everything:
Default setting: I, rotate 25 degrees to the right; S and T, rotate 25 degrees to the left.
"Then turn the knob to the right until the engine starts to sputter at idle." "Turn it back a few notches."
Turn approximately 8 rotations to the right. Now, test drive and turn the "T" knob to the right until the increased power meets your expectations.
Counteract potential idling instability caused by a tendency to pull to the left.
Okay, as I said, the whole thing worked very well. I'm now going to install a switch inside the vehicle that will turn the connection between the box and the mass airflow sensor (MAF) on and off. Based on my experience, this allows you to sufficiently disable the effect of the box. I'm doing this because I somehow feel that the fuel consumption is higher with the box on, compared to when it's off, even with the same driving style. I can't rationally prove this feeling. Does anyone know anything about this? Speed-Buster actually promises a reduction in fuel consumption at a constant speed (90 km/h), and it's supposed to be TÜV-approved. However, I can't imagine that being the case, as these boxes (design) don't advance the injection timing.
Best regards, Georg.
