Car Radio Issues: Problems When Starting Engine

My car radio with the CD changer in the trunk works perfectly as long as the radio is turned off when starting the engine. However, if I leave the radio on when starting the engine, it sometimes doesn't work properly; often only the display turns on, and no stations are displayed. There's also no sound coming from the speakers. This issue with the radio is so severe that even turning the engine off and then back on with the radio turned off doesn't always fix it.
Whenever the radio is turned off using the ignition key, 'TIM 2H' appears on the display. What could be the cause of this?

I'm not familiar with that specific car radio, but I work in the automotive radio/navigation supply industry. It looks like there might be a systematic error where the brief voltage drops during engine start-up are causing problems for the radio. This could mean that microprocessors aren't booting up correctly or that data is being lost in memory modules. However, once the engine is running, the voltage is stable and the radio electronics start up properly.

In such a case, you have to keep putting pressure on the dealer until the device is replaced. These errors are usually not isolated incidents but occur more frequently.
Persistence is probably the only thing that will help in this situation.
