Hey everyone,

Since it will soon be time to put on our summer tires again, I wanted to ask you something!
Currently, I have alloy wheels with winter tires (186/65 R15)... but I also want to use the alloys in the summer, so I'm planning to get some summer tires now.
What would you recommend? I'm considering buying a set of 205/50 R15 tires (because of the appearance).

The tire sizes I have are: 215/40 ZR17 and 195/65.
r15 90* and 205/60 R15 85*... I don't care if the 205/50 is approved; I just want to know if I will have any speedometer problems with it? Will there be significant deviations?

Thank you in advance!

Best regards, Mike.

http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilies/schilder/10.gif For example, according to a tire calculator, the following results are obtained:
/viewtopic.php?t=673&highlight=tire calculator and...
http://home.t-online.de/home/bitspark/156/reifendaten.htm

If you enter your data there, the deviation will be displayed directly (in your case, 7%).

Besides the speedometer deviation, the engine also runs at 7% higher RPM (at the same speed). icon_arrow.gif Increased fuel consumption.

I don't care if the tires are labeled as 205/50 or not...
Risky move, but it's your decision. Just a tip: In case of an accident or insurance claim, the tire dimensions are one of the first things that an officer or expert will note. Also, during a routine vehicle inspection, my tire dimensions were checked once. I hope you are aware of the seriousness of such an offense!

Regards,
Private.

And if you were to install 205/55 R16 tires?

They fit quite well, have a lower profile, are not as expensive as the 17-inch ones, and you won't experience any speedometer discrepancies.

Thank you for your replies.
and I've also thought about that thing with being typed... icon_redface.gif I hadn't thought about it before...

205/55 R16... I had considered that option as well... however, it's not financially feasible for me to buy new rims.

I will, however, be fitting 205/60 R15 tires, because those are the ones that are type-approved for my car... icon_wink.gif

and thank you again...

Best regards, Mike.
