I have a JVC radio that's working fine so far. I removed the Gamma module, cut off the cable, and soldered on a different connector (after struggling with the original connector for 2 hours and not getting anywhere). Now, I have a question about the phantom power for the active antenna: I can't detect any difference in quality (except that it makes noise when the phantom power is on). Is that possible? Also, I'm not entirely convinced by the reception quality; the antenna in the 35i had better reception than the one in the 3B.

Could an antenna of a different type (without an amplifier) potentially be of better quality?

Best regards, WarLord.

Okay, the whole issue is now resolved. There was a faulty solder joint in the radio, which broke (antenna signal). This made the reception a matter of luck. After resoldering, the reception is now excellent, and with the phantom power adapter, it's even a little better than without it. I'm now satisfied and will start installing the switch tomorrow.

Best regards, WarLord.
