AFN: Location of the sensor plug.

Hi,

My engine starts poorly when it's already warm. I know this topic has been discussed many times before. I've already checked and replaced all sorts of things. It could be that the starter injection amount is too low when the engine is warm. The car has had starting problems for a long time. If I disconnect the sensor connector and the engine starts well, can it still be due to the starter motor, or do I just need to have the starter injection amount increased?

Hi,

If you're referring to the water temperature sensor: This should be a dual-sensor for both the EDC (Electronic Diesel Control) and the combination instrument in all AFN engines, so it would have 4 wires.
The sensor must be located somewhere on the engine, inside one of the coolant hoses or pipes.
For example, in a Volkswagen Golf 3, it's located above the clutch bell and is accessible from the front.
