Audi A6: How to Replace Turn Signal Relay

Hello everyone,

The turn signal relay in my 1998 A6 sometimes fails.
Friendly reminders are becoming less effective as the area (not this ) around the hazard light switch is repeatedly tapped...
So, I'd like to switch things up with the team members...
But how do I get to it? How do I remove the drawer/cup holder unit? Apparently, I'm too stupid to figure it out...

Please help me get on the horse ).

The expansion is relatively simple:
Carefully pry off the cover. It is only clipped in place. Then you can remove the hazard light relay. If necessary, use a small screwdriver to push the retaining tabs back on the left and right sides. However, it should come out easily without that.

However, in 80% of all cases, problems with the turn signal relay are caused by the steering column switch! That's where the electronics are located. The hazard light switch (which also houses the 'small' turn signal relay) is definitely working correctly.

Hmm, I wouldn't suspect the steering column switch. Just because sometimes, by gently tapping in the area of the relay, you can sometimes restore the function...
But I'll also keep an eye on the steering wheel, and I'll let you know what I find.
