Hi.

- I've now loosened all 8 Kruemmer screws.
- The exhaust pipe has already been removed and is lying next to it.
- The oil pressure line is also disconnected (this stupid screw in the turbo wanted to come out with it icon_evil.gif).

Now the question:

Should I disconnect the return line from the turbo, or this huge nut on the engine block?

If it's supposed to be at the top of the block, will the oil leak out under normal oil levels and with the car on a level surface?

I don't feel like flooding the garage.

The return pipe is secured to the turbo with 2 screws, one of which is hidden by the bend in the pipe (super design icon_evil.gif).

If you reply tonight, the price will still be the same icon_wink.gif.

"Thank you."

Hi Martin,

I'm sorry that I can't really answer your question, but:

Once you have everything put back together, you'll need a new keyboard; it must be completely clogged with oil and EGR sludge icon_wink.gif).

Regarding your issue:

"Simply measure how far the oil level is on the dipstick, relative to, for example, the cylinder head, and then apply that measurement to the corresponding oil line on the other side of the engine. Since you haven't driven the car in the last three days, there should only be a minimal amount of oil in the turbo, and everything else should have drained down into the oil pan. Therefore, I would consider it safe, assuming it's clearly above the oil level in the pan (which I suspect it is)."

Best regards,

Jan.

Hi Jan,

The measuring process is now too complicated for me icon_wink.gif. I could also simply drain the oil - but then I would be tempted to also install the oil pan gasket that I already have ready... Actually, he should be able to run again sometime icon_wink.gif.

The easiest thing would be if someone KNEW how high the oil level normally is.

It's been taken care of.

The oil icon_twisted.gif is not that high - I just opened the 24mm screw icon_smile.gif.

Kruemmer incl Turbo is standing next to me right now, and we are watching .

If you're installing a new turbocharger now:

- Before connecting the hoses, fill the lines on the loader with oil as much as possible.
- For the initial run, let the engine idle at best. Do not accelerate! Ideally, run the engine for the first few revolutions without ignition or fuel injection, using only the starter motor. The oil pump is already pumping, but you don't have any exhaust pressure...
He should be doing well.

hi,

'so, 'filling oil lines' seems to be somewhat misrepresented icon_lol.gif'
Add a few drops of oil into the oil channel from above, let it sit for a moment, rotate the shaft a little, and then add a bit more, but don't overfill it. That should be enough until the oil pressure builds up.

No, there wasn't a new turbo.

I've put everything back together, and it's still working icon_smile.gif.
