'A friend of mine in the US told me about someone in Sweden who installed a fuel injection pump from a BMW 320d into his Golf. The Golf originally had an engine producing 110 horsepower, but now it has 220 horsepower and over 400 Nm of torque.'

'Someone tell me what's needed for this. Probably a different engine control unit and maybe the pump? I heard the pump was installed in the AFN without major modifications. That would be too rich... I don't even want 220 hp, 200 would be enough, lol.'

Can someone share their opinion, or maybe just chat with me? Hehe... I know I need a Sachs clutch and a light foot, but still...

I'm sorry, I don't understand the word 'cuall.' Could you please provide more context or clarify your request?

chris

Hello.

"You can probably do anything you set your mind to, but whether it's a good idea is another matter."
It takes a minimum of 5000 euros to build a new engine from existing parts. I don't want to go into the details now, because people who ask the above question will likely fail at such a project anyway.
Or you end up with situations like the modification in the TDI forum, where it's clear that people don't understand how the engine management system works, and the turbocharger pressure/temperature sensor is connected to the wrong place.
Don't take it personally, but that's just the way things are.
Tip: First, research how other engines are designed and what components they use. You can find information about this, for example, here:
http://www.all4engineers.de/cgi-bin/get_all.cgi?language=de&aktion=retr_con&hauptkategorie=Antriebsstrang&subkategorie=Neue+Motoren&detailkategorie=Dieselmotoren&info_alle=&info_firm=&info_doc=info_doc&info_news=&info_book=&info_event=&param1=0&param2=98&param3=28&param4=9&param5=19

Best regards, Rainer.

Okay, another thought... what about the pumps from the American automatic models? Do they have a larger turbine than the manual transmission models? Is that correct?

Does anyone have data, prices, and information on whether this would work without a new engine control unit (unlike the VP44)?

'Thank you.'
