Hello tinkerers!
Okay, here's the translation:
First, I would like to thank Mr. MichaelJ for his excellent work on my Golf 3 1Z TDI 08-'94. GREAT!
Specifically, he aligned the fuel injectors and re-calibrated the ESP. The car is running better than ever before. The difference is unbelievable.
There are no error messages.
HOWEVER! When we removed the injectors... the new NHG was found to be leaking! It was completely full of diesel up to the top.
All the lines are sealed, and this diesel came from between the screws of the bracket and the injector. So, we removed it and sent it back to ATVG-Deutschland Heilbronn.
This is the second NHG that has caused problems.
I am now driving with the old one again...
However, the fuel injection amount has been set to 2.0 mg/H. Is this a bit too rich?
I am still looking for the ideal amount.

It's clear that a few doses are sufficient, but
what have you "set up" in the ESP?
- Basic setting: Mechanical (i.e., turn the pump)
- Control system adjusted
- Basic setting via adaptation
??

We were able to read the injection timing using VAGCOM. This caused a slight delay due to the new injectors. After that, I adjusted it continuously. So, I carefully loosened the bolts on the 'Schlepp' top and gently tapped one on the pump in the correct direction so that the pump would rotate correctly. And I checked until the timing was exactly on the blue line. At operating temperature... ;-)
So, I tested and adjusted it dynamically. There are no further error messages.
I'm just wondering what the injection rate should be. So, 2.0mg/H seems a bit too high to me. |

It seems you are not familiar with the operation of a diesel engine.
There is no "fat" or "lean" setting; a diesel engine always runs with excess air.
If the idle injection amount were too high, your idle speed would also be too high. The idle speed is controlled by the MSG (Engine Control Module) based on the injection amount.
You cannot adjust the idle speed in any way â at least not just by adjusting the desired idle speed. 1993 Audi 80 B4 1Z

Okay. Well, then I'll just let it run as is.. ;-)
Now I'll replace the engine mounts. There are resonance problems at 1300 rpm and 2300 rpm. |

| He's not entirely wrong:
When the fuel injection seems very low during idle, this generally results in a higher actual fuel injection amount during operation (instead of speed regulation), which can be described as "fat pump adjustment" in a short and somewhat inaccurate way.
"Pump adjustment with less air excess" would probably be a bit too technical... GruĂ Ulf

From a principle standpoint, it doesn't matter why the pump is "overfeeding".
Adaptation works just like a shifted MSW - but the latter is much more powerful than the slight leeway of adaptation. GruĂ Ulf
