Engine Won't Start, AFN Issue?

My Passat has been difficult to start for the past two days. Today, it was the same; after about 5 minutes.
The engine suddenly stopped and now it won't start at all.
- There is no voltage applied to the heating element, which I think is okay, since it's only 15 degrees Celsius.
- When I turn the ignition on, the glow plug light illuminates briefly. So, it probably isn't relay 109, right?
- The fuel filter was replaced 4 weeks ago.
- No errors found in the error memory.
- At the injector nozzles, there is one metal pipe (for diesel injection) and one rubber hose (for return flow), correct?
- Can I disconnect a hose from the metal fuel lines and check if diesel is leaking out when starting the engine?
- Is the dispenser integrated into the pump?

Question upon question, I hope you'll forgive my ignorance.

Wie kannst Du sicher sein das Relais 109 ok ist? Is it new?
Have you ever checked the supply line to the ESP for air bubbles?

...and one more thing: three spark plugs have a resistance of approximately 1 Ohm, while one has 75 Ohms. Should I replace all four of them just in case (even though it's only 15 degrees Celsius)?

Nein, das Relais ist nicht neu. Ich dachte wenn das Vorglühlamperl leuchtet ist es o.k.? Misinformation?

The fact that the engine started and then shut off after 5 minutes suggests more than just faulty glow plugs. It could be a problem with relay 109, or, since the diesel filter was recently changed, there might be air in the fuel line. There are articles available that explain how to test the glow plugs without removing them. Also, there is a lot of information available online about relay 109 and starting problems. Take a look at those resources.
