Hi.
While looking for a top-up oil for my PD engine with WIV technology, I found Castrol Longlife 2 TopUp at the hardware store for 19.90 EUR/liter icon_eek.gif.
Online (e***), however, Castrol SLX Longlife 2 with the same specifications is predominantly offered. Unfortunately, I can't find it on the official Castrol website. Are these products being sold online fake? The TopUp top-up oil is described on the Castrol website. A liter costs about 7 EUR online. With 5 liters, it definitely becomes worthwhile; provided it's not a 'copy' or a counterfeit. Or is it so new that Castrol hasn't updated its website yet?

I think they've probably just changed the name again.
And specifically, from SLX to TopUp.
I'm familiar with Castrol SLX, at least.
I wasn't familiar with TopUp before.
Definitely, the SLX is not a fake or anything like that.

Hmmm, the production date on the TopUp bottle from the hardware store was 01/2004. That would mean that the oil offered by e*** is almost a year old (or even older) icon_sad.gif.

Since even oil, when unused, is subject to a certain degree of degradation...

*rummaging through gossip and rumors*

Was stimmt es, dass SLX war früher eher als eine Marke für workshops gedacht, während TopUp als eine Marke für Heimanwender gedacht war? Aber der Inhalt sollte ja gleich sein??

*Speculations about the space-time continuum.*

Okay, TopUp as a refill container for aftermarket products. SLX is for workshops and similar businesses, but the contents should be the same.

Thank you.
'Then I can freely add more juice. Because almost 20 euros for a liter is probably quite excessive. That's bordering on price gouging. But the oil companies are probably all in cahoots.'
