Now I'm having real problems with the engine.
"I was driving at about 70 km/h when, suddenly, the engine speed dropped to 0 intermittently twice, and the glow plug light came on. This all happened within half a second, and then everything went back to normal. It also happened while I was stopped. The engine speed briefly dropped to 0, the glow plug light illuminated, then the engine speed fluctuated up to 1200 rpm for a second, and then everything went back to normal again."
I might tell you sometime about what's been happening lately.
Half a year ago: I was stopped at a traffic light, the engine stalled, and when I tried to start it, the glow plug light wouldn't come on - so the engine wouldn't start either. (Probably a relay?)
Since then, it has happened twice more.
"4 weeks ago: I installed a new base for the current chip in the ECU, thinking it might be a broken contact due to vibration. However, the issue mentioned earlier occurred while the vehicle was stationary, and even shaking the ECU doesn't affect the engine."
3. Three weeks ago: My friend reported that the car stopped in the middle of the highway and initially wouldn't start. Then, it suddenly started again, and everything was fine.
4. Today: The issues described at the beginning. The error memory is empty, and I didn't notice anything unusual in the data blocks. However, in the area where the cylinders are located (I don't remember the exact group - the one where the reference field is empty), I saw two values at 1.0x and one at -0.14. I have no idea what that means or if it's related, but it just seemed inconsistent.
I haven't really found anything relevant in the search... sorry. Could this be related to the incidents that happened today?

I've already read through it. But aside from the issue with the fuel injector, it didn't seem familiar to me. Maybe I just didn't have the patience to go through it properly.
Most of the people in the forums also had error codes or mentioned sudden power loss. I haven't experienced any jerking, though.
So, as I said, it wasn't meant to be taken badly when I said I thought I hadn't found anything.

Then, why don't you search for 'Relais 109'?
You will be crushed...

Okay, well, of course I searched for "engine failure"... I can't possibly know that there's a relay 109. Thanks for the information. I'll check that out.

Hello,
Does your 1Z already have a "real" transponder-based immobilizer, or just a theft warning system?
I also experienced problems similar to what you're describing. In my case, it was due to cold solder joints in the control unit of the anti-theft system. Gruss Oliver.

"No, mine is from 03/96. That's probably a genuine WFS then. But you're right - the relay 109 sometimes doesn't engage when the ignition is turned on. Maybe that will also cause problems while driving. I'll replace it for now and see how it goes."
