Hello,
In the context of the performance of PD engines, depending on the camshaft setting, I am interested in the torque limiter between the camshaft and the gear hub.
According to the ASZ-RLF documentation, the hub on the northwest side has a conical seat. A drawing shows something resembling a groove for an anti-rotation key between the northwest side and the hub.
When adjusting the NW, only its hub is aligned, meaning that all adjustment precision initially refers only to the position of the KW (or its gear) and the NW hub.
Depending on the amount of play in the hub on the northwest cone, additional errors can creep into the adjustment between the kilowatt (KW) and northwest (NW) components.
Question:
Has anyone ever disassembled a PD-NW (possibly referring to a specific type of bicycle part) and, before tightening the central axle nut, checked how much play the hub has on the NW cone?
If the hub can only rotate by a mere 1 mm on the outside, this would correspond to a potential uncertainty of approximately 2° KW.
A timing deviation of the ignition point of 3° KW can, based on experience, already result in a significant loss of horsepower in the maximum power output. Gruß Ulf
