Oh yes, one more problem,
My turbo spools up too late, over 2500 RPM, it should really be around 2000 RPM. I think it's because of the intercooler hoses from the turbo, I probably didn't connect them properly. Can anyone tell me how they relate or does anyone even have a sketch? ? ?
Thank you and best regards.

Before you start messing around with 'wild' parts in the engine compartment, get the repair manual for your engine at www.erwin.volkswagen.de!!!
There is a detailed description of your machine there!!!
is really incredibly helpful and it only costs €18!! |

Hi
Maybe this description will work:
1 Hose from the filling valve to the control valve, connection OUT.
Connect the ATM of the valve to the air filter (the side behind the filter element).
Connect the VAC port of the valve via a T-piece to the hose between the vacuum reservoir and the one-way valve (white side).
Connect the one-way valve (black side) with the vacuum pump.
Is it really that simple, or?
To make matters even more complicated, the AGR solenoid valve also needs the external pressure (from the LF) and the vacuum (between the pump and the one-way valve) at its ATM and VAC connections. Gruß Ulf

I solved the problem over the weekend. I got a sketch from VW and followed the lines, everything fit perfectly. However, there was a broken connection on the turbocharger pressure valve (I think that's what it's called). I wanted to get a new valve from VW, costing £106, which is outrageous. Found another one in my garage, installed it, and it fits perfectly.
Greetings

Hi
106 € (One hundred and six euros)
For this, you get a charging membrane canister, but it is attached to the charging system and, IMO, VW does not sell it separately.
What does the specific part look like - number of hose and electrical connections, number of poles, etc.?
Can / Are workshops allowed to demand freely calculated (imaginary) prices Gruß Ulf

That is apparently the solenoid. For that, I had in mind prices of around 20-30 euros.
Maybe try calling another workshop and ask about the price using the specific part number (on the valve, not on the invoice). Then, drive (after you have hopefully calmed down) to the first workshop. Workshop and file a claim regarding the obvious "error" in the invoice. . . Gruß Ulf

...make a half turn on the cable, in the correct direction... but don't ask about it... hehe
then the turbo comes earlier because the vanes are further open, or because the scoop is larger.

Hi,
at the AFN in the 1998 Passat, the adjustment is done as follows:
- Loosen the counter nut (SW10) and turn it a few turns against
Rotate clockwise
- Loosen the set screw; turning counterclockwise will achieve
here, a shortening of the chain, meaning earlier use of chains or
also auch Überschreiten der Ladedruckgrenze bei hohen Drehzahlen, falls
Overexertion occurs, leading to a stall.
- Re-tighten the counter nut
Greetings,
Ralph |
