I chose the Pierburg replacement part for my car from the comparison table and then placed the order.

(see AKTE documentation)...

That part is completely different.

The question now is, which is the correct part?

I'm at a loss, who can help me?

I have an Ibiza 6L with an MKB or ASZ engine. If necessary, I can also send a picture of the connector for the existing MAF sensor, which is definitely screwed onto the pipe and is not a single piece.

greetings

Do you have the part number for your Bosch mass airflow sensor?

according to my LMM's records, or whatever is written on the part?

According to the file, the number is 074 906 461....

According to Pierburg's parts list, the part number should be 7.18221.51.0... but one of them is incorrect.

I checked my records, and according to them, the part numbers are correct, and the comparison type also seems to be right. I also looked at the parts list, and it confirms that what you received is the complete pipe section. That seems to be correct so far. If you had only wanted the insert, those would be different part numbers.
You can also find it at Pierburg. However, you would need to know the part number of the Mass Air Flow sensor that is currently installed, not the number of the entire air intake manifold.
Regards,
Michael.

I did check it out, but that pipe section is definitely the wrong one.
The plug would then need to be inserted vertically from above, instead of from the front, and it would also need to be a different type... (because the cover wouldn't be able to close in that position).
You can't remove the plug from this tube because it's an integral part.
Mine only has the standard version with a screw-in LMM (lambda sensor).

I'll post the number of my LMM tomorrow... I think it's the one that basically everyone here uses who also uses the DC-LMM.

The Pierburg part number for the screw-in mass airflow sensor should be 7.22684.080. It is a replacement for the VW part numbers 06a 906 461 and 028 906 461. According to the comparison table, it is suitable for the Ibiza engines with the following codes: AFN, AGR, ALH, ASV, ASZ. All information is provided by Pierburg.
I hope this helps you.

Michael.

I just checked.

'On the tube next to the mass airflow sensor, it clearly says:'
074 906 461b
and 0281 002 461... maybe that will help?

Someone messed up here.

The exchange seems to fit... unfortunately, someone messed with the rusty screws... *grrr*.

I can't get the Torx screw out anymore... stupid thing...

But thank you very much in advance!!!

Okay, I've switched to a different LMM (likely referring to a mass airflow sensor). What's noticeable is the fuel consumption display, which shows significantly less fuel being used... significantly!

For that, the moment of silence has become incredibly long, and it doesn't seem to really resonate anymore... icon_sad.gif icon_sad.gif

He really needs 1-2 seconds to start now... does anyone have any ideas?
'It's not quite as fast as before... I haven't measured the top speed, it's raining... I haven't done the ULF test yet, but it feels like it's significantly slower.'

That can't be, right? icon_eek.gif

Yes. New doesn't necessarily mean better, or "not broken."

I also once tried installing the Pierburg 7.22684.080 throttle body in my car, just to see how it would work.
Fuel consumption decreased by 0.3 liters per 100 km, but the overall driving experience is completely different – much slower!
Unfortunately, I didn't make a VAG-COM recording; the device was returned immediately.
to the dealer...

Otherwise, please create a log entry for 03/08/11 and post the results.

Okay, so it seems like nothing helps... I guess I'll have to buy an adapter and... go for a test drive... great. And to top it off, a bracket for the aluminum pipe behind the engine broke off... I have no idea what the consequences of that will be.

Hey everyone!
I've had the same experiences with my Passat 1.9L TDI PD with engine code AVF. I also installed the replacement Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor from Pierburg with the part number 7.22684.08.0, as recommended for the vehicle, but I had to find out that the car then wouldn't accelerate at all. I didn't even bother trying to log anything with VAG-COM because driving with that MAF sensor installed is just no fun.
I then also thought that I would use the replacement part corresponding to the numbers on the measuring tube, and there it is, the complete part with the number 7.18221.51.0 from Pierburg, which is supposed to be a replacement for my 074 906 461 B. However, it's a complete part with the wrong connector.
In my opinion, the whole issue with the Pierburg replacement mass airflow sensors is not yet fully resolved, especially since, according to StVZO §19 para. 3, it must be registered with the authorities using the included parts approval document.
I would still be very happy if someone has had good experiences with Pierburg parts.

Best, Tobi.

I just logged in and noticed...

'While it generally always shows a higher lm value than required, if I suddenly accelerate, the measured value (displayed) drops below the required level... that probably causes the pause... and probably also explains why it doesn't surge during pressure buildup.'

Is this broken, or is this normal?

'However, my original Bosch scale shows significantly more than required... at least 200 grams more than the specified amount... at all times.'

Hello everyone,

I've also had the Pierburg mass airflow sensor in my G4 ALH, manufactured in 1999, for a few months. I can't really tell any difference between the Bosch and the Pierburg. In terms of power, top speed, and fuel consumption, they seem to be in the same range for me. Regarding the drop in the mass airflow sensor value, I would need to log it with VAG-COM; I don't think it's noticeable while driving.
And it's also worth noting that the Pierburg part is cheaper and not an OEM replacement part.

Best, Tobi.
