Hello everyone!

On Friday, I did a longer logging session (covering approximately 50 km). During that session, I noticed by chance that my temperature sensor seems to be faulty, because the logged temperature values were fluctuating wildly, jumping up and down by about 20°C within seconds.
The part of the dual sensor that seems to provide information to the AI, however, appears to be completely intact, as the display remained stoically at 90°C. To preempt those who will immediately start arguing about the plateau function here: My AI does not yet have a strongly pronounced plateau function, because in my case, the needle only reaches the 90°C mark starting at 82°C icon_biggrin.gif.
But even with a plateau function, significant temperature fluctuations should still be noticeable icon_wink.gif.

Okay, here's the translation:

Now, to my actual question: Where is the EGR valve located on the AGR/ALH/AHF/ASV engine?
I took a quick look at the transmission-side end of the gearbox earlier today, but unfortunately, I couldn't immediately identify any sensors. However, the lighting was quite poor, and the engine cover was still attached.

Can anyone help me out?

Regards,
Alex.

Hi,

Located on the AHF engine, when standing in front of the engine, it's on the right rear side, near the splash guard in the cylinder head.

Best regards, Rainer.

Thank you, Rainer!

This afternoon, I checked the company parking lot again in good lighting conditions, and I was able to locate the sensor immediately.
However, I would have expected a component that is screwed in, rather than a sensor that is simply plugged in and secured with a clip.
Let's see how much coolant is lost when performing a flying change.

Regards,
Alex.

Not much. You just have to remember to remove the old gasket, otherwise the new sender, along with the NEW gasket, won't fit... icon_smile.gif

IMO, there are two different types, blue and green.
Does anyone know the difference (reference lines)?

"Today, I was sold a green fuel pump (part number 059 919 501) at the dealership. However, according to AKTE, the blue fuel pump (078 919 501 B) should be the correct one for my somewhat older A3 from 1997. Am I mistaken?"

Alex.

What are other characteristics supposed to be doing there? The periphery is the same. icon_question.gif

Beim ALH Golf4 gibts drei Geber, die haben alle ne andere Farbe, unterscheiden sich aber nur in der Steckerform. Due to the year of construction.
Did an engineer at VW, for example, consider that for the 2000 model year, using connector type Y from supplier B, which was 0.00000005 cents cheaper than connector type X from supplier A, would justify a switch?

Hello everyone!

The new fuel injector has been installed since Saturday, because during the week, the engine doesn't get cold enough to be able to touch anything on the cylinder head without burning your fingers. With the current outdoor temperatures, the engine never really gets cold.

Now I have the old sensor in front of me and have determined the resistance values. It is very noticeable that the two branches of the dual sensor have very different resistance values. Is this normal (different characteristics for KI and MSG) or does this indicate a defect?
Who has the characteristic curves/setpoints?

Regards,
Alex.

+30 degrees Celsius corresponds to a resistance of 1500-2000 ohms.
+80 degrees Celsius corresponds to a resistance of 275-375 ohms.
I only have the single-channel version of the ATD, so I can't say whether the reference values for the dual-channel version are applicable.
Stay cheerful.

Hi Alex,

The dual distributor for the G3 AFN definitely has different characteristics (the KI is significantly lower resistance than the EDC, with a ratio of approximately 1:3, if I recall correctly).

I suspect that this tactic is not limited to the G3.

I guess that this tactic probably isn't limited to the G3.

Maybe at Poldi's place...

The G4 definitely has identical sensors with the same characteristics. If not, the sensor is faulty.
It also makes a lot of sense to test a faulty sensor... icon_rolleyes.gif

No, it's not exactly that.
Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.
