Unfortunately, I couldn't find much information on this topic other than what was available in the '10cent tuning' section by Ulf and Co.

1.)
I would like to ask if a more detailed guide can be provided on how to adjust the injection start time (early) using resistors and capacitors, which prevents the motor from experiencing excessively high peak pressures, even in the higher RPM range. (What is 'ZDK' pronounced? icon_smile.gif Is it a version located in the engine compartment, or in the ECU/control unit?!)
(possibly specifically for AFN)

2.)
Since it appears that no fuel savings can be achieved by advancing the injection timing, I would like to inquire whether this advance actually results in 'more bite in the lower RPM and load range, as well as improved responsiveness.'

3.)
Is a significantly shorter lifespan of affected components to be expected as a result of this tuning?

It appears that no fuel savings can be achieved by advancing the injection timing.

'How do you come to that conclusion? There is definitely potential for fuel savings, at least at lower to mid engine speeds and with a corresponding driving style. And this can be achieved without compromising the components.'

The prerequisite is a moderate adjustment of the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) to an earlier timing, so that the injection timing advances during medium and low engine speeds and under partial load, but only to a degree that does not trigger any emergency mode! This effectively 'cuts off' the resulting knock suppression map from a certain point onwards, ending it at a constant level determined by the mechanical late injection limit. At full load and/or higher engine speeds, this method has no effect on the injection start.

When using these speeds and operating at partial load, you save a few percent of fuel, but you emit more NOx. The approval document (ABE)... hmmm, it's in a gray area. There is no obvious manipulation, as this 'malfunction' could also occur accidentally or due to unfavorable aging tolerances. NOx is not measured during the vehicle inspection (AU).

'With an electrically controlled RC element in the NHG system, early timing advance primarily becomes effective at higher engine speeds (where it is not actually beneficial because the fuel map is already sufficiently optimized there), does not save fuel, and can endanger components (such as the cylinder head gasket) under full load.'

Some people apparently aren't convinced.

How can I moderately adjust the ESP to an earlier time? *G*

If possible, could you please tell me exactly what I need to do?

And that even without compromising the integrity of components.
At full load and/or higher speeds, this method has no effect on the start of injection!
That would be amazing news.
I'm not interested in fuel efficiency at all; I'm more interested in having more power in the lower RPM range, but I don't want to stress any components excessively.

I don't care what the AU says anyway.
