No, so the camshaft sprocket should be fine. |

Hello,
If the sprocket is stuck, that doesn't necessarily mean...
- that the timing belt was not installed with a tooth offset.
- the timing belt pulley was installed incorrectly, causing it to be misaligned.
Ulfs suggestion is quite good; if the valve timing is incorrect, it can indeed lead to reduced airflow.
Best regards, Rainer. |

Okay, I'll talk to the workshop supervisor about it.
'On the other hand, I checked all the pipes again yesterday, from the air filter to the turbocharger, and from the turbocharger to the intercooler and to the EGR valve after the intake manifold. So, everything is sealed there (i.e., properly mounted and no cracks). But now my question: when I removed the hose from the intake manifold to the EGR valve, I noticed that everything inside the pipe was quite coated with an oil film.' Is this normal, or should I be concerned?
Regards,
Gas stove. |

Okay, I just wanted to mention that there is no increased gas discharge or anything like that.
Sincerely,
Gas stove. |

Hi.
The oil in the intake manifold is normal; it comes from the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) system.
Everyone has a TDI. If there's ever no oil available, then something is probably wrong . Gruß Ulf

Okay, that sounds good for now. I'll talk to my Audi dealer on Wednesday. I haven't looked into the timing yet, but that could actually be the issue, because the new mass airflow sensor I bought on eBay has almost the same values as mine, so there might be something to it.
It would be helpful if someone from the forum could read the values from their AHF motor and share them, so we could compare them.
Sincerely,
Gas stove. |

Hi.
AFAIK, target values for all common TDIs can be found in the error database (I don't have time to search for them myself).
Have you checked? Gruß Ulf

Yes, I have those values written down on paper as well (I have the Audi repair manual).
I would like to have the value for the entire range, from 1500 to 4700, for groups 4, 8, 10, and 11. |

Okay, I spoke with the mechanic, and he said the timing belt tensioner was not replaced during the change. Also, he doesn't see any connection between the poor mass airflow sensor readings and the camshaft. 'But since my windshield is being replaced in 2 weeks, he said he would check it again and test the car with a new mass airflow sensor.'
Let's see what happens. More information will follow.
