Thank you in advance for all the answers.
It will probably be a 5W40 or 10W40 oil – let's see if our 'specialty store' has Castrol.
Regards,
Arne.

Hi!
Whether it's cheap oil or expensive oil, ultimately it's important that the oil has a company address on the label, so that you can demand compensation if necessary.
In the end, there are almost no differences between the oils, only the NAMES!
I personally use 5W40 oil in my A6 C4 TDI during the summer and 0W40 during the winter.
To that extent, I agree with Thomas that the differences are small, except that 0W oil can handle a higher oil temperature of approximately 180°C.
In winter, 0W oil is generally more recommended, as the thinner viscosity might lead to increased oil consumption in the summer.
This results in better cold start performance and the feeling of doing something good for the engine.
Best regards: Marko

I completely agree with you, except for the statement you made. The lower viscosity index actually has nothing to do with the lubricating ability or thinness at high temperatures.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hello,
Meine Mcertainly.
Regards,
I'm sorry, I don't understand. Can you please rephrase your request?
