It could be as simple as a relay or diode being faulty, or just a simple contact being broken. Most of the time, only minor things break, and you end up having to pay a lot for repairs.
This is safety electronics (ABS-ESP), which is precision electronics, and it doesn't break down as quickly as we all think. Most of the time, it's a minor mechanical issue in a connector, solder joint, or relay.

Apparently, this is a common issue with Bosch ABS systems. The relays were fine, and I've already welded something, so we'll see how often this part fails in the near future. javascript:emoticon('')
