Hello everyone,
mullemaus sent me here.
I am looking for experiences and offers regarding retrofitting a particulate filter (DPF) to my A4 (2.5 TDI DQS, manufactured in December 1999, with 155,000 km). According to the radio advertisement, ATU has a special offer...
Regards,
Kottan.

'A verschandeln solution.' 'Audi Diesel particulate filter.'
For vehicles that are older than five years or have been driven more than 80,000 km, the legislator generally requires the replacement of the catalytic converter when a particulate filter is installed.
Is that really true?

Yes, that's right. For vehicles on the Golf IV platform, the catalytic converter is often replaced anyway, as it's then replaced with an OxiDPF (oxygen diesel particulate filter) instead of the OxiKAT (oxygen catalytic converter), as shown in the photos above.

Okay, so I'm at the point where I've finally gotten an aftermarket DPF from the dealer for my ALH. The old catalytic converter was rusted through at the rear connection pipe. Welding would have been an option, of course, but how long would it last?
So, I went with a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) that includes a subsidy. It's a VW part that combines a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and an oxidation catalyst, and completely replaces the original part, including the flexible pipe.
On the first 700km stretch of highway, I subjectively felt like the aerodynamics were worse when using the cruise control. But that's just the accuracy of my own perception. I estimate about a 10% reduction in power, which makes it very difficult to reach top speed. After a while, I didn't notice it as much, but it could also be due to getting used to it. Too bad I didn't create a performance log beforehand.
Does anyone else have experience with the performance of retrofit systems?
How could we still measure underperformance now? Only with a comparable vehicle?

Hello, who is currently thinking about what to do with a DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)?
wait a little longer.
GAT and BOSAL are preparing their replacement filters for the recalled products for mass production. Subject: Stahlgruber

They are currently undergoing testing for approval. Apparently, the "open" versions don't have such significant performance drawbacks. As soon as they are released, I will install two more and may be able to comment on the performance (reduction).
