Hm, then perhaps different / more channels are adaptation-locked in your system than in mine. Thanks to Bosch

.
Now, at most, one could compare the STG numbers, etc., in order to possibly identify a system.
I'm also interested, but I won't be able to get to it until Saturday!
Here's something else I was thinking about: Is it possible to access that value using a 'different method'? I'm being deliberately vague because, as a beginner with VAG-COM, there are still some things that aren't clear to me.
For example, in the VAG-COM interface, there's a button labeled 'Recode' or 'Single Reading.' With 'Single Reading,' you only get cryptic individual values.
My idea is that the 'adaptation channel,' with its convenient features, might offer fewer configuration options than a 'direct mode' where specific values are written to certain memory locations in the device (e.g., only allowing input as hexadecimal values). This would be a common method for preventing unintentional changes by inexperienced users and would provide experts with more possibilities.
Is there such a thing? (Just a shot in the dark.)
What else could it be (perhaps an adapter issue?)
Best regards,
Herwig.
