The post is quite a few months old.

Now I'm having the same problem with an immobilizer from a Caddy 9K 1.9 SDi.

He probably installed the same WFS module (Volkswagen part number 6HO 953 257B, Siemens part number 5WK4 7740).

According to the photo, at least the interior looks the same.

My K+Can commander and the USB-based speedometer have failed.

k+Can initially didn't even recognize the WFS box.

"The Tacho USB device recognized the control unit but denied access when attempting to read the WFS pins."

I have tested the same device in three other cars, but I got the same result in each one.

Has a solution to this problem emerged yet?

If you use the special tool, you need a PROGRAMMED key. It is definitely possible to do it. Be sure to consider any potential lock-out times (which are not displayed!!). So just leave the ignition on for 30 minutes.
