I'm going to try it out this weekend (or have someone else do it), as I'm not exactly a car expert, so I'll let a friend of mine handle it. But even without the device, the problem would likely occur, just much later, so it can't really be *just* the device that's causing it.
Best regards, |

Okay, so my acquaintance says he'd rather not mess with the VTG (variable turbine geometry) vane. He says that would completely void the warranty/goodwill (which I'm still hoping for, just in case we can't fix it ourselves). I spoke with a motors specialist from Salzgitter (I'm an employee at the factory), and he suggested it might be the turbocharger.

if the VTG adjustment is stuck, then
Or perhaps a golden hamster has wandered onto the running wheel and is running...and running...

We've already made that common practice. |

Hello there,
Okay, I know your story very well! My Golf, after just one year, started having the same problems because of a chip... Nobody could find anything wrong... Unfortunately, the tips in this forum didn't help me either... Except for a strongly worded email to VW! They granted me a 100% warranty for the turbocharger! Unfortunately, I won't get the car back until next Monday, but I hope everything will be okay this time!
PS: TIP -> KEEP YOUR FINGERS AWAY FROM THE CHIP .
My experience with some PD engines has shown that they don't handle tuning as well as the good old 90/110 horsepower models!
Best regards,
Karsten. |

I only have the problem (maybe that's why it's not happening anymore), that at the moment it's gone without the box, and it no longer goes into emergency mode. I deliberately provoked it (driving at full throttle for several kilometers on the highway). Actually, that's a good thing, but the negative aspect is that I can't reinstall the box, because then it will still be there. And I can't go to Audi either, because it doesn't occur anymore in the standard state .

I don't want to sound too negative, but since you also had this problem with the standard trim, I think it's only a matter of time before the error reappears .
I was also able to temporarily alleviate my VTG problem by driving at full throttle for extended periods, but unfortunately, it always brought me back down to earth after a few days .
I'm still rooting for you and hoping you'll be spared from this. |
