At my wholesaler, it was around 125 plus VAT.
At E***, it's around 125 including everything. VAT included, free shipping.

I understand a pulse or impulse to be a steep ramp, not a sine wave. I have no idea when and at what frequency the CTEK device is sending pulses, but I highly doubt it's anywhere near 50Hz.

As I mentioned above, the programming of the charger seems to be the key issue, although unfortunately I lack the time and resources to analyze this in a laboratory setting.

Okay, I'm bidding higher.
"If someone gifts me a 10A Ctek battery charger, I will commit to creating a comprehensive measurement report within one year. The entire data, broken down by different time periods, will be available as a PDF report, similar to the measurements taken by Micha for his inverter testing.

Unfortunately, I fear I still won't be able to find a donor. And even if I have an alternative product available, I will not make a purchase.

You can't go wrong with CTEK. I also have a CTEK MXS 10 and I'm very happy with it. We have 2 cars with auxiliary heating, so they are occasionally charged.
I've already broken the temperature sensor once. It can be ordered separately from Kunzer. Not expensive.
Before that, I had a Ctek 7.0, which was also excellent.

Okay, the charger arrived today.
It's looking very good so far.
Nice storage bag, nice soft cables, excellent connectors with locking mechanism and rubber caps, and good cable strain reliefs.
Well, I'm already very excited about that.
Now, the instruction manual is being read, and tomorrow it will be tested!

I'm testing as well.

So far, I've been charging my Passat's battery (72Ah lead-acid, not AGM or anything like that) using the constant positive terminal of the trailer hitch wiring. So, there were constantly "fiddly" adjustments and modifications to the control units involved.

Now I've taken them out and put them in the basement... let's see how they start tomorrow.

The new 68Ah AGM battery he's currently using provides a really good amount of power. It starts perfectly even at -3°C.

Okay, so my 10-year-old 200Ah Berga battery in the tractor is as full as it's ever been, according to... Acidity.
The 45-year-old Polish diesel engine with a 3.2-liter displacement, which doesn't have a glow plug system, also starts in those temperatures.

The 10-year-old 140Ah Fiamm battery in the Multicar, however, appears to be dead, as the acid density is not correct.

Right now, it's my T4's turn, which is only driven occasionally.

But I'm telling you, -3°C isn't a problem for a TDI. My Golf starts right away even at -15°C, since I replaced the glow plugs, despite having 300,000 km on it.

Hmm, what can I say:

I still tried it again with the new charger, and it seems the 140 model is also saved! I charged it four weeks ago, set it to "recond", and the battery is working again.
I have started the Multicar several times over the past 4 weeks without needing to recharge it.

It's very surprising that the Ctek gave your old, tired battery some life back! That's confirmation for me: I charged a 110Ah battery from a Mercedes E-Class for several days on "Recond" mode, and it's been working great as a caravan battery ever since. I thought it was just a coincidence before.

No, I don't believe in coincidences either. I replaced the 9-year-old battery in the C4, which repeatedly needed jump starts after winter, and it now works perfectly, bringing the car into a 'saleable' condition. Starting without any issues for 14 days in a row, even with short trips, speaks for itself.
