Hi everyone!

I found it! I checked everything, and it turns out to be a stuck pressure sensor on the turbo. It's stuck internally. The external lever seems to be okay. It's quite strange because sometimes everything moves freely, and sometimes it seems to be jammed. I'm going to try to get a new sensor and install it. If it works, I'll let you know.

Greetings to everyone, and thank you very much for the help.

Hi.

I'll probably need to add this possibility to the "stuck VTG" entry in the error database.

Hello.

'Yesterday, I accidentally drove almost at full throttle in 5th gear, and it didn't cut off. So, it seems the issue only occurs in the lower gears.'

Dann bin ich heute mal normal durch die Gegend gefahren und habe mitgelogt. Der Ist-Druck war dabei immer etwas höher als der Soll-Druck. Is that normal?

If I want to disassemble the pressure cylinder, how do I detach this adjusting rod? I couldn't see it from below. Maybe someone has a detailed picture - on this picture http://www.technologie-entwicklung.de/800logo-bunt.jpg, it's not that easy to see.

I now believe it might be a diaphragm valve, even though the valve returns to its normal position after you stop sucking. I suspect it's simply taking too long.

Best regards, Hüso.

The actual pressure was always slightly higher than the target pressure. Is that normal?

Hi.

How much is "a little" for you?

Normally, the sum of all setpoint-actual differences in a functioning closed-loop control system should, over a longer period, be very close to zero.

So, the results from my approximately 20-minute test drive, during which I didn't exceed 2200 RPM, were:

Target: 2355978
Is: 2539672

The actual value is usually always higher than the target value.

Should I perhaps still test the LMM, and if so, how?

Best regards, Hüso.

Hi.

This indicates a "mismatch" or "imbalance" in the control loop.
"In my opinion, this is usually caused by pneumatic and/or mechanical issues in the turbocharger boost control system, such as a stuck variable geometry turbine (VTG) or wastegate, hose problems, etc."

It probably has nothing to do with the LMM.

Okay, since I've already replaced the solenoid valves and the problem still persists, it seems the only remaining possibilities are a stuck VTG adjustment due to dirt buildup in the turbocharger, or a faulty pressure sensor/diaphragm.

Best regards, Hüso.

That's how it looks to me, assuming all the hoses are in good condition.

I think the hoses are okay.

Do you know how to disassemble the pressure sensor, specifically the adjustment rod?

Best regards, Hüso.

Hi.

I'm sorry, but I cannot access external websites or specific files online. Therefore, I am unable to translate the text from the provided URL.

At AFN and ALH (Ibiza), the can is secured with two nuts on the loading side. This is likely a common practice.

The adjustment rod has a lock nut: to loosen it, hold the housing on the load side in place (it might be #$%"& tight), then completely unscrew it.

Okay, I've removed the pressure vessel, and the problem is now visible icon_exclaim.gif.

The VTG icon_sad.gif initially couldn't be brought into its basic position. Then, I fiddled with it a bit, pulling and pushing, until the adjustment mechanism loosened. Unfortunately, the adjustment still can't be changed without it occasionally getting stuck, but it has become much easier }.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what else I can do?

Best regards, Hüso.

Read the link mentioned above.

The engine is now running without going into emergency mode icon_smile.gif.

I hope that VTG can now operate without Pobs for a while longer. I already have a large amount of it in my system - I think it's ASV.

Best regards, Hüso.

I solved the problem. I removed the connector and then, with a lot of effort, I cleaned it. I moved it back and forth for about an hour. Now the engine runs much better, and it no longer goes into emergency mode.

And I heard something very good:
The VW Group offers a warranty for turbos. For engines with 81 kW, this warranty is valid for 4 years, provided that all service entries are recorded in the service book.
So, they're going to replace the entire turbocharger for me, and it's going to be free.

Well, what I wrote here applies to Poland. I don't know how things are in Germany.

Greetings to everyone.
