Hi Rainer,
As far as I know, the mounting dimensions of both mass airflow sensors are identical. I should compare the one from my wife's Ibiza (which has a housing) with mine (which is a Pierburg unit without a housing).

What does the parts catalog say about this? Is there a blank pipe available as a separate part? And if so, is it still possible that the two LAMBs (lambda sensors) have significantly different characteristics, requiring a different control unit?
In the Passat B3 forum, someone once discussed this issue. However, if I remember correctly, it was due to a faulty vacuum hose.
I tested the DC LMM in my AWX. My LMM was working correctly. When the DC part was installed, the car felt slower than usual, and fuel consumption was higher! This is also confirmed by the diagram above!

Does your LMM (air mass meter) have the Bosch part number F00C 2G2 027, or the VW part number 028 906 461/06A 906 461?
I've come across your characteristic curve during my online research many times, but I never managed to find out if the ARL has the same mass flow rate. And I haven't discovered any other comparable characteristic curves yet.

Hello,
I installed the Pierburg mass airflow sensor from DC in my AFN Galaxy. Subjectively, it runs like new again. I also don't want to start a discussion about whether the performance curves are exactly the same.
The real scandal is this:
The Bosch mass airflow sensors don't last very long (100,000 km is already a lot), and...
2. The cost of the Pierburg component for end customers at DC is only about one-quarter of the price.
I don't expect that Bosch receives significantly more from the VW purchasing department than Pierburg receives from DC, but it is clear that VW charges customers a higher price for replacement parts based on a "Pi squared" factor rather than the usual "Pi" factor.

Spare parts are generally cheaper at DC than they are at VAG. If DC can solve the problem of extreme turbo lag, then it might be worth considering buying one of their cars, especially since they use timing chains instead of a timing belt. The C220 CDI is already a nice car; I drove one in driving school. The only problem is: VW has the best TDIs.

I can only confirm the above measurements and opinions. It measures 10-15% too low at 3000 RPM. However, no error codes are generated, and the engine pulls better again compared to the broken original part. At no point during acceleration is the fuel injection reduced due to the measured air mass.
I will be building a circuit in the next few days that amplifies the LMM output signal to achieve the correct values.
I definitely won't be buying another genuine Bosch mass airflow sensor for my car, considering the price is four times higher.

The 115 hp TDI AJM and the 150 hp TDI ARL engines definitely already have different housings around the mass airflow sensor (MAF).
I'll compare the part numbers sometime; at first glance, the size of the mass airflow sensor seems to be the same!

Okay, I've now got the mass airflow sensor for the AJM 115hp TDI PD engine, and...
I have an ARL engine with 150 horsepower and a common rail direct injection system in front of me.
The casing of the 150 HP version is larger, approximately 10mm wider in diameter!
Okay, I just unscrewed the sensor.
For the smaller one, it uses two industrial Torx T20 screws. For the larger one, it's a special 5-point screw with a hole, so not a Torx! (I used a combination pliers!)
On both parts, one side says '>PBT-GF30<' and the other says 'Bosch F 00C 2G2 027'.
Here's another small item; it might be one from the ongoing series.
At AJM: 082 07 2C.
ARL: 290 18 2C
I'll test the Pierburg against these two when I have a quiet moment! (But I know that the mass airflow sensor from the 115 hp AJM engine is broken...)
Unfortunately, I can only test with my AJM engine, and even then, I can only measure how quickly I accelerate on the same track in 3rd or 4th gear using a stopwatch.
