Yes, let's just leave it, Julian. It would be really presumptuous of me to put myself on the same level as you. icon_mrgreen.gif

That's probably the subtle difference. Elsewhere, every questioner immediately receives a few friendly answers, but they aren't necessarily any smarter afterward. Sometimes, it's also somewhat random what someone knows, wants to say, or is allowed to say.

Hi,

Before this discussion goes off track, let me offer something to consider.

The 827 engine, initially produced with a diesel engine, continued to be manufactured for a long time with a bore of 79.5 mm, even though the gasoline versions had already progressed through an intermediate step of 81 mm to reach 83 mm.
Bei 83mm beträgt die Zylinderwandung noch gerade mal 3mm! In Motorbauerkreisen wurde das lange als zu wenig angesehen ... und das bei einem Benziner!! VW ist dann später auch auf 82,5mm zurückgegangen. ... WaHow are you doing?
The new 2.0L diesel engine now also has a bore of 81mm. Even though this is "only" 1.5mm more than the 1.9L engine, I would be very cautious about increasing the power of this brand new engine. Any increase in power inevitably leads to increased stress (pressure increase in the combustion chamber), and it's probably impossible to say exactly how close the engine is to its mechanical limits. In my opinion, it's closer to the limit than the 1.9L engine.
Gruß Bertil
