Hi,

Theoretically, yes, but the 'dummy mode' must be activated on the diagnostic cable, and then the appropriate driver must be installed (see specialized articles).
Tested with current software/firmware: no.

Edit: I just noticed that the link was to a kit, I thought it was about a professional system. The kit should work as is, but it's now considered one of our "historical products" (meaning the hardware is no longer available).
The cable needs to be connected to the pin that, when using a 2x2 connector, connects to pin 7 on the OBD2 side.

Best regards, Rainer.

Is this compatible with the current version and firmware?
Webasto tool, works perfectly with a small adapter cable.
After switching to 'Start' in the options.
Tested on a TT-P and BW 50 (I think, well, G3).

verschandeln solution icon_cool.gif

Which pin was the yellow Webasto diagnostic cable connected to in the OBD socket?

I would like to try connecting the yellow Webasto diagnostic cable to the connector on the control unit side.

@vagtuning: Great, thank you for the feedback!

@T3SurferViewing profile: T3Surfer: I'm not sure which car you're referring to, but if the L-line (pin 15) is free on the connector in your car, you should be able to simply connect it there.

Best regards, Rainer.

Oops, it's about the Seat Toledo with the ARL engine!
Okay, then I will try connecting pin 15 this weekend, if I have the time, and of course, I will install the software and dummy beforehand! I'm curious to see if it works!

It works with the dummy. Video tutorial from Rainer. THANK YOU for this video, even though the video quality is not great icon_smile.gif. If there was only audio, I wouldn't get anything out of it, because I am deaf icon_lol.gif.

I connected a yellow STH diagnostic cable to pin 15 of the FZ diagnostic connector for testing; this pin was previously unconnected. It works perfectly with the Webasto WTT2002 version 2.09!

If you want to use VCDS locally, don't forget to reinstall the USB driver!

I need the USB dummy driver to run the Weba software, but I can't find it. icon_cry.gif Unfortunately, I can't remember where I got it from. icon_evil.gif

Hello,
I have to bring up that older topic again.

I have an original VCDS cable with an RS232 connector, and I'm currently building an OBD connector to read the data from my Thermo TOP C auxiliary heater.

I have only connected these 3 cables: icon_smile_thumb_up.gif 2V, ground, and the L-line to the yellow diagnostic cable. Does my connection look correct so far? Does the yellow diagnostic cable need to be connected to K-Line PIN 7?

OBD.

Pin 4 = Ground.
Pin 15 = L-Line => PIN2 (yellow diagnostic cable of the ThermoTop C).
Pin 16 = +12V

Best regards.

Hello,

That's okay, we can do it that way.

Hello,
I tried it out today. Could not establish a connection with L-Line, but could with K-Line.

I have a serial VCDS cable. Intel. Boot mode is disabled!

I have the Webasto test software version 2.12. I configured the COM port, and I selected "Thermo Top C" once, and also ran the entire test sequence once. Could not establish a connection.

The auxiliary heater was also on. I bridged the black and red wires (which are normally connected to the timer).

Because I don't have a timer yet.

Do you have any other suggestions for what I could do?

Best regards.

Is the LED on the diagnostic system lit green? Please check the K-line and L-line in the VCDS program settings using the "Test" function.

Best regards, Rainer.

With the VCDS cable, the LED on the diagnostic connector does not light up at all.

If I use a cheap OBD cable from eBay (serial), the LED on the eBay connector lights up. Unfortunately, it's not possible with the VCDS adapter.

I also downloaded the "Test-OK-Adapter" tool, and it also indicates that I am connected to COM3.

Where can I check the K-line or L-line in VCDS? Or are you suggesting we test the port?

Best regards.

Then the mass and the 12V are not connected. icon_wink.gif

In the shop, you'll find a picture of the diagnostic connector showing which pins are connected (a top-down view from the front).

It is connected with 12V, and I also use my custom interface to read data from the KI at my desk icon_smile.gif.

Okay, so the green light isn't illuminated on the VCDS connector, and the VCDS port check says "Connection status OK."

I'm using an external 230V to 12V adapter, but that shouldn't actually be the problem.

Best regards,

Matze.
