Well, I'm basically looking for a needle in a haystack.
ECU with FIS (multifunction display) and without CAN bus (part number 1JO 919 xxxx) for my diesel engine, speedometer up to 220 km/h.
Unfortunately, they are not that common.
Out of desperation, I'm currently working on building my own FIS display.
It's not that easy for me either (I only have basic knowledge of electronics).

'Vehicles manufactured in 1999 have WFS 2, and those manufactured in 2002 have WFS 3. As you already noted, it's hardly possible to adjust the WFS. This has almost nothing to do with the CAN bus. The engine and the MSG (Engine Control Module) that we just installed also have a CAN bus. However, the engine still runs perfectly. The error is just stored in the memory.'

And the conclusion? I would also like to install an XXX 920 XXX TAcho in my 12/98 Passat, which previously had an XXX 919 XXX TAcho. Does anyone now know if this is possible and how to do it?

They now even have adapters available.

Could it be that it sometimes works like that?
Ich hatte denn neuen Tacho(mit Can) mal angeschlossen(an Fzg. o. CAN) and
I then read out the CAN gateway, which previously only showed one error.
and then the tool said something like "[K<->CAN Gateway]"!
Besides the brake pad wear sensor, everything else is working, from the MFA (Multifunction Display) to the WFS (Wireless Keyless Entry System), but the WFS still doesn't recognize my keys.

In some cases, there were mixed installations. There were instances where a 920 speedometer was installed in a vehicle that previously had a 919 speedometer... These are vehicles from the later 919 production run and the early 920 production run.

I'm sorry for being presumptuous, but do you know that, or are you just thinking that?
