The fuel injection pump seems to be stuck somewhere, possibly on the magnetic sensor.
There were iron shavings present on the spur gear.
According to Bosch, it might have been water that caused the pump to 'fail.'

The 'new' pump was priced at €550.00 plus €162.00 for labor. The old one is being repaired. Was the price reasonable?
Okay, so the interesting thing was, there was a Vectra 2.0 DTI and a 320d in the workshop, both with a faulty fuel pump. Do these also use a VP44 pump (is that only for 6-cylinder engines or?)
