Your engine might not accept the diode -> check the error memory?

Otherwise, it has all the standard features: turbocharger, air filter, etc.

Without a diagnostic tool like VAGCOM or at least an LDA, you'll likely continue to be groping around in the dark.

I don't know if it's nonsense, I'm not very knowledgeable about electronics, but in my case, on the 1Z, it made a difference regarding the polarity! So, if it doesn't work, just try inserting the diode the other way around.
P.S.: The diode trick didn't work particularly well on my colleague's AHU either (but there was no limp mode or error message).

It's not nonsense }.
A diode installed in reverse is as good as leaving it out altogether.

My car is a big mystery.

After I had tested the car with the other diode, I left it standing overnight.

The next morning, it suddenly started behaving in a completely different way.
It ran reasonably well up to 3000 RPM, but above 3000 RPM, it suddenly had a significant power boost...

Okay, I've reconnected the faulty mass airflow sensor and also properly reconnected the EGR valve.

I'll have the diagnostic device connected at the workshop; I know the people there well.
