Hello!
I seem to be too incompetent to create a graph from the log file. Please, please, provide some assistance.
I just completed another extensive test drive and would like to analyze the results.
Test drive with a new boost pressure control valve and a new mass airflow sensor. The charge air cooler was checked for leaks, the vacuum hoses were inspected, and everything is okay.

Okay, I finally managed it. Here's the boost pressure while accelerating up to fourth gear, going uphill.
And here is the corresponding duty cycle of the boost pressure control valve.

Hm.
Your tractor is achieving the desired pressure very well. It's nice to see the slight overshoots.
That's fine! (I would say)

Hmm, yes, according to VAG COM, but the manual display shows something different. Now the question is, who is giving the wrong reading here? My boost pressure gauge or the sensor?
Okay, I'm going to remove the pressure sensor for the turbocharger and test it with a precise gauge. If it shows the correct pressure, then the sensor is likely faulty and sending incorrect, high values to the engine control unit. My tractor is producing a lot of soot.

Ah, now I understand.
Does your engine have the sensor integrated into the engine control unit (like the 1Z) or is it located externally (like in the G4 TDIs)?
If it's the external one, I would just replace it.

I was just reading Ulf's post about air density. Now I'm also wondering where I should be taking my measurements. The boost pressure sensor is screwed into a pipe after the intercooler (in my case, the large one from the 111kW TDI). However, the boost pressure gauge is connected directly to the turbo, at the outlet where the solenoid valve is also located. That seemed like the most appropriate place to me, because that's where I can see directly if the turbo is being overworked. That's also the reason why I'm so skeptical about the value shown by the boost pressure sensor, or my boost pressure gauge. Directly at the turbo, the pressure should be higher than it is just before the intake manifold, because there should be pressure losses along the way, resulting in a slightly lower boost pressure reaching that point. How much of a difference can it be?

Is ein externer Kobisensor, also Ladedruck und Ladelufttemperatur. Der Sensor, phu, hab gerade nach dem Preis gefragt, kostet satte € 90.- exkl. Ust. Einfach so mal tauschen? Mein Ersatzteilspezialist hat mir aber angeboten, ihn testweise ein zu bauen und dann wieder zurück zu bringen, fals es nichts gebracht hat. LeIt's a test!
