You seem to know a lot about this.
Do you know anyone who does something like that?
'Or, do you know what all is needed?'
The list of parts is above. What wouldn't I need?

Hello Timo,

It's not a problem at all to get 200 horsepower out of a 1Z 180!
0.216 injectors, 12mm pump pistons, and some decent software! You already have your 180 horsepower!

That sounds interesting. Do you have more information about the vote?
For example, regulated charging pressure, max. Fuel injection quantity, control unit (MSA12/MSA15) ...

Best regards, Rudi.

Hi!
Send me a private message! Then I'll give you the link to the other forum. I'm not sure if it's allowed to post the link publicly here!!!!!!?????
There are several people on that forum who know how to use it, find cheap parts, and modify the software.
Best,
Timo

Hello Timo,

I know. AFAIK, no one has managed to do it using only .216 nozzles.
'It's difficult to extract 130 horsepower from a 1Z engine with a 12mm pump plunger.'
small turbochargers with their wastegates at their limit.
My experiences, (unfortunately icon_cry.gif), are also that the charger is not working properly.
'...before the 10mm fuel pump's capacity (160-170 horsepower) is reached.'
(Mirco Köster once wrote something about piston pumps and power.)

If you have any other experiences, you can also contact me via private message.
or send an email; I'd be happy to try something else icon_twisted.gif.

Best regards, Rudi.

Hi!
Yes, I mean this forum! You can set the LD high enough for this tuning! The only thing is that it produces a little more smoke when driven at full throttle or during maximum acceleration.
There's never a perfect solution when you're trying to get a lot for your money!
If you really want to do it perfectly, you might as well just buy a different car with more horsepower!
Just to give you an idea of everything that was done!
Tuning.
0.216-inch nozzles.
12 mm pump piston.
Software.
(For increased power output exceeding 170-180 horsepower, minimum.) VNT 17 or, preferably, VNT 20 turbocharger.
Durability:
Storage trays.
Crankshaft.
Piston.
Pleurisy.
Clutch.
Transmission.
etc.

Now you can figure it out yourselves! In that regard, a diesel engine is no different from a gasoline engine.
'Under normal driving conditions, nothing will happen to that engine! However, I wouldn't want to drive it like that on a racetrack.' But before the engine even revs up, it'll probably blow out your clutch or transmission first!
Best,
Timo

Okay, what about the 1Z engine with a manual transmission? Does it absolutely need to be replaced? I've heard that they can actually be quite good. I'm planning on installing a sport clutch anyway. That's obvious.

Hi!
As I already mentioned! It's not a problem if you drive in a humane way. I wouldn't wish constant red light stops on anyone!
If you want a significantly higher top speed, you definitely need a new one, or you must change the gearing on the 5th gear. Change your gait!
Best,
Timo

How high? At 1.3 bar, I believe the safety limit has been reached (or exceeded), and at that point, it already starts to...
With a 140 horsepower tune, it produces so much smoke that - at least to me - it's a shame.
unburned fuel.

What nozzle/charger/control unit combination are you currently using, and what power output are you achieving?
What kind of car is it (year of manufacture)?

Best regards, Rudi.

Hi!
I'm still driving my stock car! I have an Audi B4 with the 1Z engine. For now, I want to improve the comfort and appearance. If I have any money left over after that, I'll upgrade to 0.216 injectors and get some proper software. If that's not enough, we'll see what else we can do!
It's not just the engine's performance that needs to be improved, but also the braking performance!
The engine should only be worked on *after* the brakes are in good enough condition! I find this approach better and it's also safer! 'If the engine fails, it's not so bad, but if the brakes fail at 200 km/h or more, that's when you really have a problem.'
Best,
Timo

Hello Timo,
I think the mindset of 'safety first, then power' is very healthy.
Optics... what for; I am married (and happily so icon_cool.gif).

Otherwise, I can't help but feel that you are...
'regarding the things you mentioned about 'what's up, like with 1Z' (by the way, have you...'
B4, is it an air mass flow meter or an air volume flow meter? At least, I don't think so.
You have your own experiences.

Best regards, Rudi.

'Back then, I found an AFN engine with approximately 80,000 km on it, including the front axle, transmission, etc., in the newspaper for around 2000 EUR, and I sold my old one for 1000 EUR.' Converting it into a 1Z is actually quite straightforward and can be done by two people in about 6 hours.

You don't need an exhaust. It doesn't offer any benefits whatsoever. I still have the 90 horsepower exhaust system on it, and it still runs at 199-205 km/h (GPS measurement) with its original 110 horsepower.

@Pred

The transmission from the 1Z model has a longer fifth gear. The transmission from the 1Z model is shorter. However, for such a radical modification, a 6-speed transmission from a common rail engine would be a better fit. The 1Z engine delivers 20 Nm of torque to the crankshaft, which is an insane modification, exceeding the stock output by over 100 Nm!

Best regards, WarLord.

Hi!
Yes, you're right!!! I haven't had any personal experiences with it yet! I'm writing what I've heard from others or read in various forums!!!! So far, I've only heard positive things about it from different people! If it wasn't good, they definitely wouldn't have written/said it!!!!!! Whether you believe it or not, I don't really care!!! (No offense intended). Everyone has their own opinion or experience on the matter!
I still have the old one with the air mass meter! Why are you asking???? Well, I'm not exactly happily married, but I'm very happily engaged! That's enough information for now! When I say 'optics,' I mean nothing extreme! Nice rims, let's lower it a bit and then we'll see what happens!
'It's great that you were lucky enough to get an AFN at such a good price! Unfortunately, not everyone has that luck. For example, I wouldn't be able to do such a conversion because I don't have a garage or anything like that where I could do it. The rest wouldn't be a major problem.' But doing that kind of thing on the street is really not a good idea!

Best,
Timo

Hello Timo,

Yes, you are absolutely right!!! I haven't had any personal experiences with that yet!
I'm writing down what I've heard from others or what appears in quite a few places.
Read the forums! So far, I've only heard positive things about it.
I've heard the same thing from different people!

Then you should perhaps also make it clear in your posts that what is written...
relies not on personal experience, but on other sources, and these sources...
'also known as' or 'also referred to as'. As long as the links are not to websites containing illegal software, cracks, or adult content, etc.
I'm sure no one in this forum would object to that.

If it wasn't feasible, they definitely wouldn't have written/said that!

see above; that's what I mean.

Whether you believe it or not, I really don't care that much!!! (No offense or anything like that.)
Everyone has their own opinion or experience on the matter!

It's just that then nobody benefits from it, and we end up at the same level as other forums.
in which people talk about cars icon_wink.gif

I still have the old one with the air flow meter! Why are you asking?

because it's a rare model among the 1Z series.
- Very old engine control unit (if you're unlucky, still with 87C257 EEPROMs).
- Different turbocharger (although it's unclear whether it has more potential than the later-installed KKK turbochargers). Garrett.
I can't say anything about the charger, as I don't have any experience with the older version.

Well, I may not be happily married, but I'm very happily engaged!
Just take it easy for now!

Right now, I'm drawing a blank... no, I'd rather not say, as my significant other occasionally reads this.
and that could cause complaints icon_lol.gif

When I say 'optics,' I don't mean anything extreme! Nice rims, let's lower it a bit and then we'll see what happens!

Okay, I also have icon_redface.gif ... (aluminum parts) installed now. On the back, however, the springs are reinforced, which is better when building icon_wink.gif.

Best regards, Rudi.
