No problem. It's best to get the original replacement part numbers from Volkswagen, possibly with an AKTE printout. This will make the inspectors' job easier.

Okay, this brake might be available in another similar vehicle. That would legitimize the installation without requiring a permanent brake integration and all that extra stuff.
Possible questions that the examiner might still ask:
- Did you install the same vacuum pump?
Do you have the same brake booster?
Do you have the same rear brake?
Do you have the same master cylinder? Usually, it's the same for models with ABS, but often a smaller one is used for models without ABS.
(This is particularly relevant when upgrading from 239 to 280. It should work fine when upgrading from 256 to 280.)
Possibly further questions:
Do you have the same stabilizer bar on both the front and rear axles, or the same type of multi-link axle?
Do you have the same brake force limiter on the rear axle?
Do you have the same ABS settings?
- Is a 4-hole design sufficient for this powerful brake system in your heavy car? (Can you provide references to other vehicles with the same axle load and a 4-hole design, as well as using the 280 brake?)

The original drums. The braking performance was significantly better than the standard version, and you can obtain the Martin test seal for the modification. However, it often takes more to convince a TÜV inspector... I wasn't able to get the brakes approved, even though my employer has its own TÜV department for new certifications.

However, to convince a TÜV inspector often requires more... I couldn't get the brakes registered, even though my employer has the TÜV in-house for new certifications.
The brake booster, master cylinder, brake force distribution system, and the complete axles are identical. The axle loads are also sufficient.
The brake was only installed in conjunction with disc brakes on the rear axle.
I'll ask the TÜV (German technical inspection authority) here. In my opinion, it should be possible.
