Hi Martin,
In the context of my plans for a smaller cooler in the heat pump system, I would like to know approximately what the maximum difference in display readings would be between winter and summer (assuming an outdoor temperature difference of about 40 K?), given roughly the same motor load.
Background:
With the radiator partially covered on the ASZ engine, my temperature readings reach a maximum of 99°C at full throttle up to 200 km/h, with an outside temperature of 12°C. Without the radiator cover, the temperature quickly rises to 99.9°C.
If the external temperature fluctuations at your location (and consequently, in the return flow of the cooling system) have shifted the displayed value by, for example, 5K, I can roughly estimate that a 1K difference in the log corresponds to approximately 8K difference in the cooling system's return flow – caused by the partial covering of the cooler.
When I try to
measure the return flow using my own equipment, I fear that the results may not be very meaningful (due to heat loss between the radiator and the sensor).
