Hey everyone,
Okay, I finally did it.
It wasn't almost the crankshaft bolt (I have a 1Z engine).
Last week I drove 500 km, and suddenly the fuel injection system started giving me problems (which had never happened before).
Unfortunately, I also had to stop and rest.
Once I finally got my car to my friend's Bosch service center, we checked everything thoroughly, and we quickly realized that...
--> that the pulley for the timing belt (which is located on the crankshaft) was worn out and, to put it mildly, 'wobbling.' (This wobble probably causes the engine control unit to shut off the fuel injection pump --> which is why I initially thought the fuel injection system was faulty).
So, we've made the front of the crankshaft flat again and installed a new rotor.
Lo and behold, the diesel is running perfectly!
Okay, so once again, many, many thanks to EVERYONE!!
Regards,
Dave.
