Questions! Questions! Questions!... especially for Rainer.

Nice feature, but how am I supposed to understand the acceleration forces?

Are the G-forces being measured along the longitudinal axis of the accelerating vehicle, or is something else entirely meant by this?

Do the dips in the G-curve correspond to gear changes, and does the speed on the X-axis only represent acceleration in the highest gear? In other words, should we use 'V' (velocity) in 6th gear instead of RPM?

Are the G-forces calculated based on fundamental principles, similar to Ulf's thrust calculator, or does the adapter use a micro-mechanical sensor system to capture them? If so, its position within the car is crucial, isn't it?

Or is something completely different meant, which is obvious to every professional, and I've embarrassed myself again.

Hi,

It's much simpler; it just logs the speed and velocity. Along with the weight, everything else can be calculated by running through an acceleration and deceleration phase.
The jumps in the G-curve are caused by fluctuations in the sampled data output values. However, these jumps are usually not very large. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, I am currently unable to record any more "nice" curves.

Which gear achieves a top speed of almost half a G?

Ich hatte mir nämlich auch mal Gedanken gemacht, das subjektive Popometer durch ein objektives G-Meter aus dem Kunstflug zu ergänzen. Scheiterte an den Preisen, der zu langen und groben Skalierung und der Einbaulage eines entsp. Thurry.

Of course, considering the gear ratio that allows for the highest possible torque to be transferred to the drive wheels.

EDIT: Assuming that the 0.44 refers to the maximum g-force that the vehicle is capable of achieving. It seems a bit low for a vehicle with that much horsepower; during full braking, it should be possible to reach just over 1g.

I thought 0.44 G was also very low, which is why I asked. Hmm... for example, an A3, because I know the values for that one.

50 km/h = 13.88 m/s
v = v₀ + a*t

a = (v - v0) / t = 13.88 m/s / 5 s = 2.778 m/s 2

-> G = a / g = 2,778 m/s 2 / 9,81 m/s 2 = 0,28 G mittlere Beschleunigung bei einem Auto mit 168PS und etwas leichter. It's okay. / It will be alright. / Don't worry about it.

Please remember that 0.44 G is equal to 4.31 m/s 2 .

So, nothing about trucks icon_razz.gif. If the car accelerates at even half the speed of free fall, that's already quite impressive. Also, this is certainly not the maximum acceleration value, because during the performance test, it wouldn't make sense to shift gears.

How else do you usually get around, in a Starfighter or an F16? icon_lol.gif

Well, I'm certainly not an advocate for such high G-forces, especially since they aren't supposed to be good for the cardiovascular system and capillaries.

Therefore, I prefer to keep the 10-cent tuning disabled on my AKU. Who knows what else might happen otherwise...
