Broken spring inside the can?

I haven't taken the container apart, so it's hard to say. Generally, do you hear a slight squeaking sound from a spring when the rod is in good condition? (I don't have anything else to compare it to.)

Well, the mechanics aren't designed to be silent, so you can definitely hear it moving.

I don't recall hearing any squeaking sounds with my AFN.

Well... I actually wanted to avoid unscrewing the can, but apparently there's no other option .

And are you sure it's unlikely to be the solenoid valve for turbocharger pressure regulation or the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve?
