I haven't taken the container apart, so it's hard to say. Generally, do you hear a slight squeaking sound from a spring when the rod is in good condition? (I don't have anything else to compare it to.)

Well, the mechanics aren't designed to be silent, so you can definitely hear it moving.

I don't recall hearing any squeaking sounds with my AFN.

Well... I actually wanted to avoid unscrewing the can, but apparently there's no other option icon_wink.gif.

'//edit: So, you remove the two nuts underneath the can, and then somehow you can pull the rod out? What kind of mechanism is behind that? (I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong).'

And are you sure it's unlikely to be the solenoid valve for turbocharger pressure regulation or the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve?

Greetings.

Guy icon_smile.gif

Have you ever watched "Turbo"?

Have you already looked at the URL I posted?

Okay, hier ist die Übersetzung:

"Here it is again:"
http://www.technologie-entwicklung.de/Gasturbines/VNT15-Turbo/vnt15-turbo.html

Here you can see perfectly how to get the can out:

Remove the two screws and the retaining ring at the other end of the control rod.

Sure, installing a turbocharger might be a bit tricky, but that's why there are so many pictures available beforehand, so you can see what to expect.

m,
Transparency, Teamwork
... there was another T.

I don't know what the f*ck it was.

Have you ever watched The Turbo?

I apologize if that came across as a bit wrong. Of course, I looked at the picture – but I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything specific to be aware of, besides what's mentioned in the technical articles/link about the turbo. My concern was purely about safety icon_wink.gif (no offense intended).

Best regards,

Hi, I just wanted to close this thread with the results of what came out of it:

Indeed, the shaft was completely immobile, and after I installed a new turbocharger, all the problems were solved icon_wink.gif.

Thank you very much for all the tips!
