I have no idea how it is with the Beetle

. I only know that it's impossible to properly access the turbocharger, because it's located behind the splash guard on the Beetle. You can't even touch it with your hand if you just want to feel it, let alone try to take anything apart.
What surprises me is that the TDI usually runs normally, even when the injection timing is close to the limit. Does this issue only become noticeable during startup? I always thought that a TDI engine wouldn't run properly if the injection timing wasn't set correctly
