Hello,
I finally took a look at my old fuel injector heads that I had stored away for about 6 months...
I soaked them in WD40 and stored them in a dark place. Now, the deposits have dissolved from the nozzles, and everything is sticky... The nozzle needles are also stuck; I can't remove them, they're really stuck in the nozzle body.
Can I just discard this whole thing or is there another solution? I was thinking about using a small flame from the welding torch to heat it up and hopefully get the pins working again. But what about the nozzle holes? Will the pressure clear them out again, or is that too risky in terms of the spray pattern?
My thought was to use an ultrasonic cleaner (which I don't have)... otherwise, I would be grateful for any tips.
Best regards.
P.S. I graduated from university last week and would like to thank all the forum members... Although there hasn't been much activity here for a few months, this forum contributed a lot to my evening entertainment and provided a welcome distraction from my studies!!! Thank you to everyone, and especially to RAINER.

Unfortunately, I don't have any idea how to remove the nozzle needles; perhaps soaking them in a mixture of thinner and diesel for about 2 weeks?
Best regards, Rainer.

An ultrasonic cleaning bath was also my idea, and I tried it.
Here's the translation:
"On the left is the nozzle before cleaning. On the right is the one that came out of the cleaning bath. So, it didn't remove anything other than rust. While the front part of the cleaned nozzle looks better than the uncleaned one, that's simply due to the use of a cleaning cloth and plenty of isopropyl alcohol after the cleaning bath."
By the way, the cleaning system was a professional-grade one, not one of those cheap, €49 models.
Best regards!

Thank you, Rainer!
Okay, my idea was to heat the dust in motor oil and then see what happens. However, I think all experiments involving these substances are dangerous, you know what I mean.
Best regards.
P.S.: @Rainer, what's the reason for the change from approximately 25 threads per day to around 0.5 now?
Is it true that we have discussed everything technically here?
Best regards,

@Rm.M.
EDIT: THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE PICTURES and your report!
Did you reinstall the nozzles?
Did everything work out? That's my main question...
Okay, so the background is that I'm probably going to sell my beloved, unregistered G3 (even though it's in top condition and I have a lot of emotional attachment to it), and I'm switching to a G4 ALH from my mother. I wanted to put the 216 injectors in the G4 and restore the G3 to its original condition. It's not really tuning, as I know the buyer and he's aware of the modifications. Besides, the engine has only been driven for about 5,000 km with those injectors (which, in my opinion, is still a relatively mild form of modification).

"No, I didn't reinstall those. They were actually meant to be kept as spares anyway, I've already installed new ones. After the cleaning process, I won't be reinstalling them either, because the needle doesn't fit as well anymore. (I initially only threw two out of the four in the bathroom, just to see if there was a difference)."
I would recommend that you rearrange everything as you already planned to do, but without undertaking any "major" cleaning operations. The saying "If you don't do anything, you won't break anything" applies here. So, it's okay to wipe away soot (using alcohol, rags, etc.), but I would leave everything else as it is.
Greetings!

Hi! That's my problem right now... so, should I install the old nozzles even though the whole thing isn't working properly? The problem will be this: replace the nozzles (with the original ones), then register the vehicle (with a seasonal license plate), and then sell it immediately... I might drive the car for another 100 km, and I won't be able to check if a nozzle is clogged, etc. I want to make sure that the buyer gets something decent, even though I'm excluding the warranty.
Best regards,

Ah yes, the old nozzles - I must have missed that up there.
They should be usable now. Put them in alcohol, maybe something will happen.
If not, there's still one option: completely replace the nozzles (rods) for G III and G IV. Is there anything against that? (-> to the nozzle experts)
Best regards!
