Hi,

Does anyone know if the bearing shells of the idler pulley for the serpentine belt are available separately? I believe they are Teflon bushings that are pressed in.

I mean the folded part with the notch.

While I can't give you a direct answer, according to what 'Freundlicher' said, these storage containers should also be available individually.

'In the past, I frequently had issues with the worn-out tensioner in the ribbed belt drive of the alternator. A friendly mechanic offered to replace the belt, pulley, pulley arm, bearing housings, and the tensioner for just under 300 euros. His words were: '...everything needs to be replaced, otherwise you'll be back here in a month because the next part will suffer consequential damage!'
Either it was a typical Volkswagen fairytale, or those bearing shells are actually available individually.
Does the file contain any information about that?

Georg.

028 903 312 is a protective cap for the tensioning roller!

That's something completely different.
